Another 7 Miles

Run: 7 Miles
Time: 1:24:04 (12:00 pace)
March Totals
Running Miles: 33.1
Biking Miles: 7.4 Miles
Weight Loss: 3 Pounds

Well, first let me backup to Sunday. Sunday afternoon I met Mendy and David out at the Donaldson loop to bike. I was hoping to get 2 laps in which would have been about 14.2 miles. However, when I was loading up my bike I noticed my tires were a little low on air so I grabbed my hand pump and got the back tire just fine but the front decided not to play nice. The tire would pump up just fine but when disconnecting from the stem it would not hold the air. After messing around with it for about 20 minutes I decided to head on out and get it resolved at the base. To make a long story short the tube had a leak and if it wasn't for Mendy having an extra tube I would not have even gotten the one lap in. I think we spent about an hour trying to fix it and we got the tube replaced. Thanks Mendy for the assist. Once we got the new tube and tire back on the rim and filled with air we were ready to go. It was a great time riding even if it was a short. Only got about 7.4 miles in but it was a rewarding ride after working so hard to fix the tire. I really need to take a class on Bike maintenance and buy a good set of tools to carry with me.

Tonight I got out on my run around 8:30 and the plan was to do 5 miles but when I got out there I felt so good and the weather has just been fantastic so I decided to push on further. I also made sure to keep my pace nice and slow as this was just an easy run. I came in at a 12 min pace for 7 miles and it felt great. Tomorrow night I will hit the weights as its been a few days since I've been in the gym. Below is a snapshot of tonights run. Have a great Tuesday! - Jason The Running Man

Great job, Jason!

Isn't it nice when you feel good enough to run farther than you originally planned? :)

I once tried to change my bike tire tube without the proper tools...one of the worst experiences of my life. A complete fiasco! Props for getting it done. Keep up the great training discipline.

Ah, the flat bike tire. When I was doing triathlons, I was get them so often that I actually spent an entire afternoon practicing how to change them fast. I got it down to under 3 minutes. Of course, after all of that practice, I didn't get another flat for six months. Figures...

Great job with the runs!
