Lucky Guy...

Last night I didn't make it to class but what a night it was. Gracie and I got a chance to play outside before dinner, what a blast. After we ate we all went back outside and played on Gracie's play set and chased Rosie around. What great time we had together as a family.

After a couple hours of that I was sitting in my driveway feeling very blessed and thankful for everything I have. It's so easy to take things for granted and last night I took a moment to just look around! Wow, look at everything I have to be thankful for I have no reason to complain about a thing. There are people risking their lives for my freedom right now, there are people who don't know where their next meal is coming from, there are people who have no roof over their heads, and I'm complaining about stupid things like gas prices! What a joke.

After we came inside we all watched Lady and the Tramp together before Gracie's bedtime. We had a good night together as a family, including Rosie since she is part of it now and I'm looking forward to more precious family time. I really wanted to get out and run but I was in the bed before 9:30 last night and a sleep before 10. Sleep was way more important then running last night. Tonight I have my annual HOA meeting from 7 to probably 8:30 or so, should be a good meeting with our community and maybe I can get out on a run afterwards.

It's so easy to get caught up in the busy routines we all have that we miss what's really important in this crazy thing we call life. I know what mine are and I'm one lucky guy!

Make it a great day. - Jason

Family is certainly more important than running, so long as you continue to take care of yourself. I didn't get my run in this weekend either. Family came first. :D

I think we could all take some time to slow down - and enjoy all of the things we have to be thankful for!

I know exactly where you are coming from. Playing in the backyard with the kids is awesome and I'm sometimes at a loss to understand how I came to deserve the wonderful life I have with my family. Enjoy every minute of it!

I am so glad you took the time to play with your child instead of figuring out what you "needed" to do. Good Dad!
