Finally...

Run: 5.6 miles
Time: 1:02:31
Pace: 11:06

This run was from Tuesday night and finally...finally a fantastic run.

When I started out Tuesday night I figured I would change up from my normal route and it was great. It was the first time since my half I was able to find a good pace and I didn't want to stop. I wanted to get at least 7 miles but I just didn't have enough time. We had family fly in from LA Tuesday night and they had to be picked up late.

I decided to skip my quads/calves workout last night and just take a full day of rest. Today will be another easy run and I'm determined to make it another good run. It seems my weight loss has been stuck at one number for a several days so I started to mix some things up in my diet by zig zagging my calories. Hopefully I can stimulate the weight loss train again. Have a great Thursday! - Jason

Good job on having a great run! They feel wonderful, and sometimes worth the feeling of crappy run after crappy run, after .. (well, you get it), to get to that GOOD run. It's a lot more mental than physical too.

What is zig-zagging calories? not familiar with that.

The great thing about having a good run, regardless of pace, is that the next one is very likely to be MUCH better for feel and pace. There's no dread and you aren't beating yourself up, mentally defeating yourself. Just takes one to break the chain of bad runs, so good for you!

I must ask as well... what is zig-zagging? Never heard of it. Do you have a web link on this?

Congrats on the run.

I have heard great things about zig zagging the cals. It's one thing I am trying on a weekly basis. Great run!

Here is a link that best decribes zig zagging. Even has a zig zag calculator to make it easy.

ZigZag

A friend of mine, Jeremy Likness, that I've communicated with on another board is a firm believer in this method and has written several articles on the topic. This has worked well for me in the past. I will provide a link to his site in my next post.

Let us know, Jason if it works. Sounds interesting - too complex for me. I'm not that patient with counting calories. Good luck.

I like the new layout/look of your blog, very nice. In the year or so I've been running I have yet to lose a pound, I need to look in to that zig zagging as well!
